A Church where Everybody is SOMEBODY and
our doors swing open on The Hinges of Love!
Welcome, we have endeavored to make this website a useful tool in order to introduce ourselves to you.
It is important for anyone searching for a church to find one that is doctrinally sound and is a place where one can serve the body of Christ with his or her gifts. If you do not already attend a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church, then we would invite you to join us at either our Sunday morning or Wednesday evening service for a time of worship which is done through singing, prayer, preaching, fellowship and above all else, honor to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
The first vital statistics of New Hope Baptist Church were recorded on April 7, 1967, by the Town Clerk of Newington, New Hampshire. Charter members who signed their names to the Articles of Agreement were: Willie M. Matt (Kittery, Maine); Lige A Williams (Kittery, Maine); Frances Satchell (Portsmouth, NH); Bette L. Jarmon (Pease AFB, Portsmouth, NH); Joseph Shaw (Pease AFB, Portsmouth, NH).
In Pastor Emeritus Hilson's Honor
Pastor Emeritus Dr. Arthur L. Hilson, New Hope's most recent Senior Servant, was the loving husband to wife, Florine and proud father to three college graduates.
ALL CHURCH SERVICES & EVENTS ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
In light of the world situations in regard to racial equity and justice, there are many in our church that have lived through the Jim Crow Era, the Segregation/Integration Bus issues and so many other racially divided ways we were forced to live. The problems of yesterday have apparently not "passed." We need to stand strong as Black people and YES, as ANY color people.
The killing of George Floyd was in itself a volatile issue, but topped on the quarantine and social distance rules we are now under, has made this a violent issue as well for some. Our nation and ALL of God's People need prayer. There is nothing stronger than those of us united in prayer and walking with Jesus. It is time to Pray and pray harder than you have ever prayed before New Hope!
